Are you citizens of the Jakarta?
Whether you are migrants citizens from cities around Jakarta who work or
activity in Jakarta? If so, you must have been familiar with the traffic
problems of the capital that is increasingly complicated. Many road users to
use their personal vehicles as a reliable means of transportation to take them
from one place to another in Jakarta. However, the increasing number of private
motorcycle and car users actually further aggravate congestion. Discomfort, the
number of transport fleets are still few, and transportation have not been
integrated in every place makes mass transportation in Jakarta is still not
able to attract the people switches to using transportation that has been
provided by the government.
Because of it makes the government of
Jakarta thinking to maximize mass transit friendly and easy to use by citizens
of Jakarta and the migrants citizens from the cities that were around Jakarta,
such as Tangerang, Depok, Bogor, and Bekasi. Jakarta currently has a form of
mass transportation like Trans Jakarta or Busway and rail-based transportation
(KRL Commuterline) which is sufficient to connect various places in Jakarta
with other cities. However, this is still not sufficient modes of transport for
people who have a higher degree of mobility from year to year. Therefore,
recently appeared some government plans to build a facility that is integrated
with the previous mass transportation.
Currently the construction of
rail-based transportation are Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) has been running as an
answer to the needs of the community will be the mode of transportation
convenient and reliable. Later, Jakarta MRT will consist of two corridors,
namely the North - South corridor that stretches along approximately ± 23.8
kilometers from Lebak Bulus to Kampung Bandan and the East - West corridor that
stretches along approximately ± 87 kilometers. So that the overall length of
the MRT rail is approximately ± 110.8 kilometers. Development of South - North
corridor from Lebak Bulus to Kampung Bandan in two phases, where first phase is
constructed connecting lines between Lebak Bulus to the roundabout HI along
15.7 kilometers with 13 stations (7 elevated stations and 6 underground
stations) and is targeted to begin to operate in 2018. As for the second phase
followed by making the North - South line from the roundabout HI to Kampung
Bandan along the 8.1 kilometers which will begin construction before the first
phase of operation and is targeted to operate 2020. For the corridor East -
West is currently in the feasibility study stage and targeted slowest operations
in 2024 - 2027 next. In addition, the government is also planning the
construction of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) seven corridors where two
corridors, namely corridors 1 (Kebayoran Lama-Kelapa Gading) and corridor 7
(Kelapa Gading-Kemayoran-Pesing-Soekarno-Hatta), will begin to be worked on
2015's.
Is this the government's plan will
reduce congestion in Jakarta? Let's wait until the MRT and LRT begin operating
later. (Rifky)
